A great opportunity to double your donation! Hope Projects is taking part in the 10K Birmingham Legal Walk on the evening of May 20th to raise funds.

The walk starts in Birmingham City Centre and takes in the Jewellery Quarter, follows the historic canal network to the tranquil Edgbaston reservoir before returning to the city centre for a well earned free drink. If you can’t join us, you’re still welcome to contribute here.

In previous years this has enabled us to help hundreds of people practically, and helped to overturn many miscarriages of justice. Hope provides high quality legal advice to asylum seekers in the UK from all across the world who have been refused by the Home Office. Coordinator Phil Davis says “Sadly the British asylum system is complex and often hostile. Many people are refused the protection they desperately need simply because they get lost in the system.”
When your asylum appeal is refused, you are evicted from your house, all your money is stopped and you are not allowed to work. You are left street homeless and destitute. So Hope also provides practical support in the form of housing and funds – because you can’t fight a legal case properly when you’re struggling just to stay alive.

Our team of walkers includes George Reiss and Phil Davis. If you’d like to join the team, we’d love to have you with us. Please support our walkers by clicking this link.

Thank you, and please email us if you would like to take part!
